We are in need of booksacks, school supplies, vouchers for uniforms if possible, lots of food and entertainment. This will be the first back to school event ever held in our parish. We want it to be fun and entertaining for the children. World Vision is supplying us with some of the back to school supplies and booksacks, but cannot supply us with all of them. We have a total of 7200 students total in Washington Parish and we would like to take some pressure off of the parents by having a fun day out. I would like to have games and other different events if possible. I know that this is a big project but I know that we can do it with the help of organizations. Please spread the word to other organizations! ------------------------------------------------------------ 6/14/07: Via call to Linda Anderson, Office Mgr. for the Angie Clinic in Angie, LA, they've had no luck securing any grants to bring in Youth Programs/Summer Programs for kids. If anyone can assist with leads or is willing to help write grants (as a volunteer service), this community desperately needs to have Youth Programs available. --------------------------------------------------------------- Our mission statement is "What the mind can conceive and believe it will achieve." The reason that we us this for our mission statement because we want our children to know that they can achieve anything if they just keep focus in life and work hard all of their dreams can come to pass. Our Distribution Center is working hard to build a Community Center for our children, elderly and community.
