- How to Volunteer -

The decision to leave the comfort of your home life and set out to help other people in an environment that is unfamiliar and uncomfortable is not one to be made lightly. It requires conviction and flexibility as the work can be tough and schedules change in an instant. That said, I've never done anything more rewarding in my life. When serving in such an exciting environment I wake up every morning eager for the unknown adventures that lurk in every unexpected shift in my day.

Pay attention to yourself as you read through this site and think about the idea of going to volunteer in Haiti...You'll know it's right if you feel excitement bubbling up in your spirit, if you feel yourself growing more alert...more alive than you normally are. If you do feel it's for you, we'd love to have you along! There's lots of work to be done and lots of like-minded people (both other volunteers and Haitians) to meet and form life long friendships with.

As the organizer of this trip, I take my responsibility to my volunteers and to the people of Haiti very seriously. While I'm a rather care-free kind of guy, when it comes to ensuring the safety of our people and the success of our mission I'm all business. I'm currently working on a volunteer packet that will be available to those who are interested in coming along. Included will be lots of information about each various aspect of the trip, the goal being to prepare you mentally and physically for the environment you will enter.

To compile this packet in it's entirety there are many aspects of planning that have to be done in person in Haiti. I am going from DEC 3 - DEC 8 on a dual purpose mission, to assist in a friend's endeavor as well as make the connections necessary for our trip in January and February. I regret the fact that I'll be unable to send out the complete document sooner, but there are many aspects of preparation that I can make available now, which I will do largely through this site.
