Communications Coordinator

Position is responsible for coordinating with the Communications Director in implementation of a strategic public relations and marketing program that forwards the mission of the Houston Food Bank

Primary responsibilities include timely website content management; writing, editing and design of communications tools; assistance in media relations activities; and organizational photography.

Requires a Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field, plus 3-5 years of related experience (not including internships). Fluency in AP Style and journalistic writing; proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook; proficiency with website content management software. Prefer Adobe Creative Suite proficiency, especially Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign; or, equivalent photo editing and graphic layout software. Rudiments of media relations.

Systems Analyst

The Systems Analyst is responsible for database and data warehouse development, .Net programming, Web Development, and Report writing. Develops systems for automating IT processes and new systems to assist various departments. Provides reporting tools that can be used by various departments in tracking performance metrics. Assists in the development of IT strategies and policies. Maintains professional business relations with clients and outside contacts. Keeps management well informed of area activities.

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent. Four years programming and Web development experience. Requires strong knowledge of SQL Server 2005 development, .Net development, and ASP.Net development. Knowledge of Sharepoint development is a plus.

At least four years of development experience. At least four years web development experience. Strong customer service skills and willingness to assist others including end user support, able to communicate complex information clearly, attentive to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, able to coordinate well with other departments, personnel. Experience working with Windows Server 2003 environment, Active Directory Integration is a plus.

Agency Services Representative

Position is responsible for maintaining smooth operations of all day-to-day Agency Services functions. Provides exceptional customer service and support to Administrative and Operations programs as needed. Maintains professional business relations with staff and outside contacts. Keeps management well informed of area activities.

Complete at least 170 monitors within a twelve month period. Perform prospective monitors of new agencies within 30 days after receiving completed application packet. Make changes to the CERES database within 5 days of receipt of requested changes. All reports and correspondence completed accurately and in a timely manner.

Acquire and dispense accurate information pertaining to the Agency Services Representative position.

Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in Social Work, Business, Humanities or a related field, plus 1 - 2 years of related experience required.

Minimum requirements include knowledge of database reporting, proficiency with Excel, Word and Outlook. Strong customer service skills and willingness to assist others. Able to communicate complex information clearly, attentive to detail, strong problem-solving abilities.

Development Coordinator

Position is responsible for coordinating with the Communications Director in implementation of a strategic public relations and marketing program that forwards the mission of the Houston Food Bank

Responsible for administrative support to the Chief Development Officer and Senior Directors including scheduling meetings, making appointments, and assist with the development and implementation of donor stewardship, cultivation, and solicitation strategies for major donors and prospects. Draft special correspondence and update reports and oversee and participate in preparation of development materials such as donor profiles and donor list. Prepare orientation and cultivation materials for the Board of Directors. Other duties as may be necessary to ensure the success of the organization’s business strategies and mission.

Requires a Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in an appropriate field and/or equivalent

training and experience. A minimum of two years experience in non-profit and development and/or related training and development. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Strong computer aptitude and willingness to learn specialized fund raising software. Knowledge pf Raiser’s Edge a plus. 2 years experience in non-profit and development and/or related training and development environment.

Warehouse Associate

Position is responsible for maintaining smooth operations of all day-to-day receiving functions as they relate to Donation, Order selectors, administration, personnel, RODS accuracy Bin Slotting and FIFO processes. Provides exceptional customer service and support first shift receiving and Operations programs as needed. Maintain professional business relations with staff and outside contacts. Keep Warehouse Manager well informed of all area activities.

High School Diploma, GED, or commensurate industry experience, previous experience

in food Warehousing and/or like business. Experience in food warehousing or inventory management. At least two years of Food Grade Warehouse experience. Strong customer service skills and willingness to assist others. Able to communicate complex information clearly. Attentive to detail. Strong problem-solving abilities. Able to coordinate well with other departments and personnel. Ability to operate all types of warehouse machinery, standup & sit down forklift, long and short pallet jack, manual jack, computer, copier and other business equipment.

Product Recovery Area (PRA) Associate

Position is responsible for maintaining smooth operations of all day-to-day Product Recovery functions as they relate to working lines 1 and 2, Repack Room, Family Aisle and volunteer care. Pull and inspect product, sort product into assigned categories. Provides exceptional customer service and support to Administrative and Operations programs as needed. Maintains professional business relations with staff and volunteers. Train all volunteers in the various aspects of their assigned task, tag product and keep PRA area clean and orderly at all times. Keeps management well informed of area activities.

Strong customer service skills and willingness to assist others. Able to communicate complex information clearly. Attentive to detail. Strong problem-solving abilities. Able to coordinate well with other departments and personnel. Ability to operate computer, copier and business equipment. Stand up forklift experience.
