Work Express
Almost a decade ago, MainSpring started Work Express, an innovative and successful job training program for men and women staying in our Brockton shelter.
Work Express is a six-month to one-year sobriety program for homeless individuals who are serious about moving on, and committed to their recovery.
Members of Work Express live in MainSpring House and work in the community four hours a day, five days a week. They save thirty percent of their income for the future, attend addiction support groups and life skills classes, and keep daily journals. Members of Work Express connect with a sponsor and a counselor and obtain health benefits.
In the past year, 14 individuals graduated from the program with employment and moved into housing.
