ANDERSON, S.C. (WSPA) – Anderson County remains under a state of emergency Sunday.

It’s one of several Upstate counties that are feeling the impact of Hurricane Helene.

Officials said crews have been working around-the-clock on recovery and restoration. As of Sunday, 75% of the county remains without power.

Power crews are diligently working to turn the lights back on for more than 80,000 homes, according to Anderson County officials.

The cities of Belton and Honea Path remain under a boil water advisory.

Emergency management officials have requested two 18-wheelers of bottled water be brought directly to the impacted community. Water is now available at Leeda Poore Park in Belton, as well as at 204 South Main Street in Honea Path. Residents are permitted to pick up one case per household.

Anderson School District 4 will be accessible for those in need of resources on Monday. The facilities will be open from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., and complimentary food will be provided from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m.

The district said the following facilities will be available for those who need a secure environment and access to charging stations:

Mount Lebanon Elementary, 2850 Lebanon Road in Pendleton
Pendleton High, 7324 SC-187 in Anderson
LaFrance Elementary, 550 Williams Street in Pendleton
Townville Elementary, 105 State Road S-4-565 in Townville

County officials said the National Guard arrived this weekend and brought in a number of resources for cleanup including more additional crews, equipment and medical personnel.

A large-scale medical shelter is open and any patients needing assistance must call the SCPH Care-line at 1-855-472-3432.

The destruction of Helene shut down 560 county roads, according to Anderson County. Crews have made significant progress with 160 roads remaining closed as of 3 p.m. Sunday.

Anderson County officials said more assistance is on it’s way, as the cleanup is expected to last several days.
