The opportunities are to learn how to care for companion animals in a shelter environment, working as a team. Dothan Animal Services (DAS) is located in Dothan, Alabama. Save A Pet is a non-profit organization. We assist DAS with Programs and Volunteers to help improve the quality of life for 6,000 animals taken in annually including aiding with; adoptions, care and feeding of animals while housed within DAS, transfer programs, education and community outreach programs, foster programs, spay/neuter programs, volunteer management, media relations, veterinary care, vaccination and medication costs, and driving to other shelter locations to rehome our overflow. Skills We welcome everyone interested in helping improve living conditions for companions at the Dothan Animal Shelter. There are several projects, and everyone desiring to help save a life is needed. These skills would be very useful: communicating with public for fund raising and adopting pets; marketing, web design and maintenance, feeding, and cleaning kennels, making phone calls.
