They told me at Orange County "that is rare, just hang up and try again. I told her this is my 7th try and she was shocked and gave me the toll free. Then I call the toll free and after 4 attempts of being on hold and getting disconnected, I get a hold of an operator who had never heard of a pet shelter in Sunland Park for Tujunga residents. Same happened at County Animal Services Dispatch (it's THEIR facility by the way) the other night when I was up till 1:30 am trying to place a pregnant dog in shelter. RC didn't know where to send pets even though the facility was DOWN THE STREET and I had TOLD THEM several times about it. So in the end, 211 told me "send people to a shelter at E Valley" which is FAR from Tujunga. I asked her "now if I am an evacuee, and there is a shelter for pets a mile away, why would I go to E Valley?". She promised she'd bring up the issue to her supervisor. I don't hold out much hope that will actually happen.
