notes: -> It didn't take long for the public to start utilizing the Emergency Animal Rescue. In early 1994, we were summond to Los Angeles to assist in animal rescues during the Northridge earthquake, Then again in October of 1996, we flew to Texas to rescue animals in the floods in Conroe and Liberty. And again in our own hometown, the Harmony Grove fire, the Viejas fire, the Pines fire and most recently, the Cedar fire. The Emergency Animal Rescue came through with the help of friends and neighbors, rescuing hundreds of animals, holding them in our receiving areas, and then returning every single one of them back to their rightful owners. We also just returned a Swift Water rescue team from New Orleans after an 11-day mission in the devastation of Hurricane Katrina where we rescued over 400 animals from the floodwaters. But we do more than just the high profile rescues. The Emergency Animal Rescue has done thousands of rescues that go completly unnoticed by anyone, save for the animal and the owner. Helping those who can't help themselves. Because what we do is inherently dangerous, members of the Emergency Animal Rescue train on a continual basis to stay abreast of the latest rescue techniques. We also cross-train with other agencies so we can become familiar with their operating protocols, and they with ours, which becomes ever so important in natural disasters. We leave nothing to chance and no member goes out on a rescue alone or without first having the proper training and confidence to handle the situation. Through its compliment of volunteers, members of the Emergency Animal Rescue stand ready to safely return our precious animals back to where they belong 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
