The town of approximately 300 people remained evacuated today. Residents who had been staying at area hotels or with friends and family were expected to move into an American Red Cross Shelter that opened at 6 p.m. at the Toledo Community Building in the 100 block of S. Church Street in Toledo.
The town is without power and water, said Roxane Warnell, Tama County Emergency Management Coordinator.
