notes: POSTED: SHELTER SET UP The Vernonia Police Department and the City of Vernonia have set up a shelter to accomodate people who don't have an alternate heating source while the power is out in Vernonia. The shelter is at the Vernonia Middle School and will be open until power is restored to the community. Hot meals are being served and there is plenty of heat and hot coffee. If you know of friend or neighbor who has no heat and needs a place to warm-up please direct them to the shelter. It is not known when power will be restored to the community.
