Some Private Nonprofits May Be Eligible For Disaster Snow Assistance

REISTERSTOWN, Md. -- As a result of the severe winter storms and snowstorms that blanketed portions of Maryland in December, a Federal disaster declaration was signed by the President. Under the declaration, certain private nonprofit organizations (PNPs) providing essential government-like services may be eligible to receive Federal assistance when they meet certain Public Assistance (PA) criteria.

Four Maryland Localities Are Added To Federal Disaster Declaration

REISTERSTOWN, MD. -- The Maryland Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) today announced four additional localities have been designated as eligible for disaster aid for the December 18 – 20, 2010, severe winter storm and snowstorm. The localities are Anne Arundel, Charles and Talbot Counties and the Independent City of Baltimore.
