notes: FROM THE SITE: Yahve-Jire Children’s Foundation (Yahve-Jire CF) is a non-profit organization founded in 2006 in Croix-Des-Bouquets, Haiti. Yahve-Jire Children’s Foundation began as a children’s home resulting from the efforts of the founding board which includes; Chedlin Justinvil (Director), Daniel Auguste, and Michael J. and Victoria Stewart. Yahve-Jire is translated as Jehovah Jireh, which means “The Lord who provides”. Funding for the orphanage is currently provided by Western Boulevard Presbyterian Church (WBPC) in North Carolina. WBPC sends $1000 per month and this is what the Yahve-Jire Orphanage is currently surviving on. Recently, Yahve-Jire Children Foundation has teamed with Worship 24:7 a non-profit (501C3) in the US to begin fundraising efforts, so that eventually the Orphanage, School and entire facility will be self-sustaining. God has called us to establish Yahve-Jire Children’s Foundation to aid in the healthy development of at-risk children. Yahev-Jire achieves this by addressing the direct development of the children as we provide them with shelter, families, health care and education that is providing for their spiritual, physical emotional, and academic development. Yahve-Jire CF is working with the community in helping find ways to address their economic needs. Yahve-Jire CF does this by providing agricultural intervention, job and business training, and by helping entrepreneurs find investment capital to finance their businesses as a way to create jobs in their community. Yahve-Jire CF works alongside the communities in building advocacy groups that enable the poor to influence government policies affecting their community and their lives. Croix-Des-Bouquets, Haiti is a city in the Ouest Department of Haiti. Yahve-Jire CF began its work in Croix-Des-Bouquets in 2006. Croix-Des-Bouquets is located 12.9 kilometers (8 miles) to the northeast of Port-Au-Prince, the capitol of Haiti. It is one of the poorest suburbs in the metropolitan area. Croix-Des-Bouquets inhabitants live on subsistence farming and small scale cattle and pig production as a source of income. Croix-Des-Bouquets lacks basic health care, schools, infrastructure, financial services and capital necessary for business investment. The first activity of the foundation is Yahve-Jire Orphanage. Yhave-Jire Orphanage is a program that provides a home and a family for 14 orphans and abandoned children. They are under the love, affection and care of three godly mothers and two godly men. In April of 2008, Yahve-Jire Orphanage moved to Tabarre, Haiti. Tabarre is in the same condition as Croix-Des-Bouquets but they do not rely on farming as the area is mostly a suburb with housing. People living in Tabarre are there because it is a bedroom community. The orphanage moved because they needed more room and better living conditions for the children. The new rental house is cheaper than the original and is much larger, which allows the orphanage to also operate a school. The orphanage is currently under a 5 year contract to rent the house in Tabarre, and has plans to build a permanent facility within that time frame.
