notes: North Carolina Tornado Report SITUATION REPORT RESPONSE FOR: North Carolina Tornadoes BACKGROUND As you know, Saturday, April 16, 2011, tornado winds exceeding 140 miles per hour ripped through most of North Carolina leaving many of our church areas with families whose homes were damaged or lost. As of April 19, 2011, we have found eight Original Free Will Baptist Churches that have members who have experienced damage or loss. HOW HARVEST CONNECTION HAS RESPONDED TO DATE The Harvest Connection has taken emergency recovery kits, Kids Kare boxes, water and tarps to the distribution center in Snow Hill. Several families from different areas have come to our center in Kinston for assistance. We are sending emergency recovery kits, Kids Kare boxes along with water to Colerain, NC to be distributed in that area. Assessments are being made in different areas whereby The Harvest Connection Disaster Relief Ministry will be sending teams to help in the recovery effort. HOW YOU CAN HELP THE HARVEST CONNECTION IN RESPONDING A. Financial assistance (fuel, supplies, etc.) B. Emergency Recovery Kits need to be delivered to our Kinston center. Attached to this email is a brochure explaining the kits that are needed. We have depleted our supply,therefore kits are desperately needed. C. VERY IMPORTANT – If you would like to assist in recovery efforts, please contact us. DO NOT ASSIST ON YOUR OWN!
