The Salvation Army responds to the FourMile Canyon Fire

The Salvation Army has activated a mobile kitchen and cold truck in response to the FourMile Canyon Fire in Boulder. We will be providing meals and hydration throughout the day including lunch and dinner this evening. The kitchen and cold truck will remain on site as long as necessary to support this effort.

The Salvation Army has activated a mobile kitchen and cold truck in response to the FourMile Canyon Fire in Boulder.

As of 5:15am, more than 450 meals have been served to first responders to the FOURMILE Canyon fire in Boulder County.

At 11pm on Monday evening, the command center was moved to the Mesa Table Blvd., location along with The Salvation Army mobile kitchen that is providing food and hydration to the command staff and other first responders.

Breakfast will be served beginning at 6am this morning and The Salvation Army is been asked to prepare 300 meals. Breakfast will consist of omelets, hash browns, sausage patty, coffee, juice and fruit.

The Salvation Army will be providing meals and hydration throughout the day including lunch and dinner this evening. The kitchen and cold truck will remain on site as long as necessary to support this effort.

As of 9pm, more than 450 meals were served this evening and meals are being prepared for those fire fighters staffing the lines overnight. The current mission for The Salvation Army mobile kitchens (canteens) is to provide food and hydration to first responders of the FourMile Fire.

Those first responders are fire fighters; law enforcement members providing security, crowd and traffic control in the affected areas; Emergency Medical Technicians supporting the efforts; and the command and control staff that is coordinating the fire efforts at the command center. The canteens are located at 6th and Canyon at the command center at the Criminal Justice Center

The Salvation Army will remain overnight and prepare breakfast for the crews fighting the fires. Breakfast will start to be served beginning at 6AM.

The on-site media is also offered food and hydration in order to keep them feed and hydrated in order to provide continued coverage to the public of the changing situation.

Initial release

The Salvation Army has been asked to provide food and hydration to fire fighters battling the fires in Boulder County as well as law enforcement and other first responders. Tonight, more than 300 dinners are being prepared and the volunteers and vehicles will be at the command center overnight.

Breakfast is also being planned for at this time and The Salvation Army will be on site until being released by Boulder County officials.

The Salvation Army is also planning to provide meals to evacuees if necessary.
