During their March 2010 trip to Haiti, Stan Wiebe of NC (HHH Director) and Ron Bouchard of NY (HHH board member) were impressed by the dedication and heart of compassion with which HHH partnering churches are reaching out to earthquake victims in the Gonaives area.

1. HHH-Haiti Partner church members are assisting the wounded with basic necessities which are normally provided by family members.

They are delivering food to patients, filling their prescriptions, providing hygenic items and offering to pray with them.

2. HHH-Haiti Partners are helping families as they transition into life in Gonaives; most have nothing but the clothes on their backs.

Homes are being rented for one year for displaced families, with 70 familes on the waiting list for this rental assistance. Relief funds will assist those with greatest need until funds are depleted.

Several relocated families own land in the area, and as sponsors come forth, we will assist them by building them a house for $5000.

Numerous children have joined our schools and churches and we are assisting them with basic necessities.

3. HHH-Haiti Partners at CFNE* are offering a temporary or long-term home for children who need a safe place to live.

As of March 2010, three young boys and one girl who lost their parent(s) in the earthquake have moved into the home.

A supporting church in Raleigh, NC has committed to assist with the first year's obligations for up to 15 children.

For long-term care of the children, we will need four sponsors per child (at $25/month).

4. HHH-Haiti Partners have offered vocational training scholarships for a special 1-Year program in construction, carpentry, plumbing and electrical work.

Currently, 81 students have been offered scholarships.

Classes began in early March.

5. HHH-North America supporters have played a key role in relief.

Relief efforts have been made possible by generous donations.

Ministries directly affected by the quake were recommended to HHH donors, as well, some of HHH relief funds were redistributed to these organizations.

Physicians for Peace in Norfolk, VA received a load of crutches and walkers collected by HHH-USA supporters. These will be forwarded to earthquake amputees and wounded.

Invitations for Stan Wiebe to speak have continued to raise awareness and funds for relief efforts.
