This process allows residents to use local participating pharmacies to obtain necessary medications.

For insured residents:

Your local health care provider and pharmacy will bill your insurance company directly when filling drugs. You will still be responsible for any copayments required by your insurance.

HHSC will work with all contracted pharmacies processing claims for Medicaid, CHIP, KHC and CSHCN clients impacted by the fires. Pharmacies should continue to call the Pharmacy Resolution Help Desk for assistance to meet the medication needs of these clients

For uninsured residents:

Your local health care provider needs to include the words “Bastrop Wildfire” on the paper prescription or indicate “Bastrop Wildfire” in electronic or phone call prescriptions to be filled at participating pharmacies.

General info:

Pharmacies are working with Red Cross and FEMA to fill prescriptions. Individuals must have a valid prescription in order to receive medications. Pharmacies can contact doctor’s office for valid prescription if needed. At minimum, a 30 day supply of medication will be provided.
Individuals will be responsible for their regular co-payments. Red Cross and FEMA can assist those individuals not able to pay the co-pay fees.
