Your direct gift may be in the form of cash, stock, bonds, or property given directly to Animal Care Services. Other arrangements include Life Insurance policies, Real Estate, and Bequests provided for in your will. As a 501(c)1 organization, there are significant tax benefits to these and many other types of gifts. LOREN ESLINGER SPAY AND NEUTER FUND Reducing the number of animals impounded at the Shelter begins with spay and neuter. For many animal owners, a spay and neuter voucher can make the difference between getting their animal fixed and another unwanted litter. This fund directly pays for spay and neuter procedures at local veterinarians, education, and outreach efforts to reduce animal overpopulation. EMERGENCY CARE FUND Animal Care Services sometimes receives animals in poor conditions that have been injured or neglected for long periods of times and are lost, stray or seized. The Emergency Care program funds the additional medical treatments these animals require to become healthy (i.e. eye surgery, a broken limb, x-rays, tooth extractions). SHELTER IMPROVEMENT FUND A critical component of animal health is providing a healthy shelter environment that reduces stress and promotes interaction between animals, people, and nature. Ongoing improvements to kennels, cages, and Shelter environment ensures that animals leave better than we found them. YOUTH EXPLORERS FUND Education is a critical component of making the world safer for people and animals. The Animal Care Explorers program not only prepares young people between the ages of 15 and 19 years-old for a career in animal rescue and sheltering, but also provides important services to the community. IN KIND GIFTS You can make a direct impact in the life of a homeless pet just by cleaning out your closet or purchasing supplies. Items needed include: canned food, toys, blankets, towels, printing services and items for special events, such as gift cards or gift baskets. Donations are tax deductible.
