Fuel Relief Fund had to leave Haiti when supportive funds ran dry. They worked long and hard to secure grants to be able to return to continue their urgently needed disaster relief and recovery efforts with fuel, but ultimately it was not to be. They served a vital and life saving purpose for several months after the 1/12/10 Earthquake in Port-au-Prince and its surrounding neighborhoods, such as Croix-des-Bouquets, Grantier, Petion-Ville, Carrefour, Fontamarra, Bel-Air, all of Delmas, Bon-Repos, Cite Militaire delivering fuel for generators and ambulances and so much more.

Subject: Help Haiti through Fuel Relief Fund
I’m back in the US, reunited with my wife and two sons. I barely escaped death on January 12 as I was in an enclosed area, a house with a cement rooftop, when the terrible earthquake hit in Haiti. Very fortunate to have survived and suffered no loss of lives, I owe it to God and my fellow countrymen to help with the recovery relief efforts that are now underway in every corner of the country. To do so, I have voluntarily joined hands with the non-profit organization, www.fuelrelieffund.org (FRF), which is making an unparalleled contribution in the lives of the survivors in Haiti since the day the earthquake hit. FRF has been giving away free fuel to power up generators in tent cities, small clinics, orphanages, tower lights, and hospitals in and around Port-au-Prince.
Ever since FRF started its service two weeks ago, it has been constantly getting bombarded with phone calls, texts, and e-mail messages to respond to urgent needs for power throughout Port-au-Prince and its surrounding neighborhoods, such as Croix-des-Bouquets, Grantier, Petion-Ville, Carrefour, Fontamarra, Bel-Air, all of Delmas, Bon-Repos, Cite Militaire to name a few. FRF is very interested in extending its service to other cities, such as Leogane, Petit Goave, Miragoane, Jacmel, that have also been badly hit by the quake, but to do that a little help from you would go a long way. FRF needs to buy more equipment, more fuel, and increase its manpower to continue to deliver the fuel quickly and on time.
All of you on this distribution list have either communicated with me, worked with me, sold your products to me for years, or have simply been a friend. So, within these past two weeks, I have no doubt that you have been praying for the people of Haiti while some of you have or are anxious to lend your support to the recovery efforts. As I have been working with Fuel Relief Fund and known it to be a credible organization, I’m asking you to forward your contributions to its address below or just click on (www.fuelrelieffund.org) to see how to donate.

mission:
Fuel Relief Fund originated out of a quest to provide a basic fuel source for victims immediately following the devastation of a natural disaster. In 1992, a board member of Fuel Relief Fund, was living on the west coast. Several of his family members lived in Florida and were victims of Hurricane Andrew’s destruction. Immediately following the hurricane, countless people found themselves unprepared and ill equipped to provide the basic essentials of life for their families. It was immediately evident that gasoline was one of those essentials!
In September 2005, Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf States. Due to a lack of fuel, victims were unable to find the food, water, and shelter they required. In addition, most lived on the power of generators for weeks and sometimes months, before power was restored.
On September 11, 2005, two of the original board members from California, sent a “fuel relief” tanker truck filled with gasoline to Mississippi and then on to Louisiana. In both locations survivors of the hurricane were given free gasoline to run their automobiles and generators aiding them in their time of need. The event prompted the set up of the nonprofit organization called Fuel Relief Fund.
Fuel Relief Fund knows it is not “if” but “when” the next disaster will hit the U.S. or abroad. Furthermore, we know that the basic essentials of life… food, water, shelter, and fuel will be needed. By providing the latter we will help relieve some of the suffering in extremely difficult times.
Fuel Relief Fund’s initial strategy is to enlist and implement the talents and resources of members of the transportation and petroleum industries. Our goal is to provide fuel resources to those in need immediately following a natural disaster. In an effort to help as many people as possible after a disaster it is imperative that Fuel Relief Fund accumulate sufficient funds as quickly as possible. Through ongoing fundraising and successful receipt of monthly pledges and commitment gifts, Fuel Relief Fund will be prepared to immediately mobilize when necessary. Your contributions will be invaluable and will help Fuel Relief Fund prepare to mobilize just prior to or immediately following a disaster. ->
