Hi Leslie,
I have not spoken to Jim Wilson yet.
The cubans did not receive the PIH supplies yet but Dr Deslouches promised today again they would be delivered soon including 10 cholera cots. He did not say when but we are getting there.
Yesterday, the cubans and the canadian red cross visited the land in Cayes and in is not usable because of it's proximity to the river. They visited another location that can be used and cityhall is negotiating with the owner. We do not have an answer yet. The population is also causing troubles but this will also be taken care one way or another.
Today we visited Marigot where a piece of land is being setup by the population urgency comity. Electricity has been installed and this afternoon water pipes were being put in place. The cubans as well as miss Andrenèse Juste from the health center in Marigot said that it was suitable.
Justin also went to visit a land in Peredo with the marigot commity and the cubans. They said it can be used.
I know that the cubans can staff the CTCs but I do not know if they can supply it. For supplies, we are counting on all the help we can get.
For the moment, Caritas said they have the funds to purchase some supplies for Cayes Jacmel and Marigot. They will send for supplies in the DR.
PIH also promised supplies as well as MSF.
Miss germaine from the red cross sent us 5 agents to proceed to disinfection of patients houses in Cayes jacmel. This went well. She will send agents to Guillemonde to do disinfections as well.
Well I think this should give you a good idea of the situation here.
Will keep you posted
Best regards
Patrice

Hi Leslie,
I have not spoken to Jim Wilson yet.
Patrice
