Wayne Shoemaker
Samaritans Purse
569 SP volunteers have been active in Michigan Ave. area of Long Beach and have assisted CoH efforts in Island Park. They have provided 4,500 hours of volunteer service.
The Vineyard Church on Denton Ave. in Lynbrook is serving as an overnight host site for 50 of their volunteers. They would like to have more space; if they could locate a larger facility, more willing volunteers could be accomodated and utilized.
Bob DeRosa observed how ideally you want to find a way to utilize volunteers who want to come, even if you can't host them overnight, that you risk losing them if you have to turn them away.
